Craft a product addressing the issue of climate change, utilizing IoT technology
When it comes to household utilities, most people do not know how much their usage impacts the environment. Utilities are usually spread across multiple accounts and have a different units of measurement, so tracking usage, knowing appropriate usage, setting usage goals can be tedious. For this reason, it's hard to get people to become excited about being more "green". For people whom already make efforts to be more "green", it's hard to stay excited about making small habitual changes when the benefits are not quick to show.

EcoStat automatically tracks utility usage throughout the day via IoT devices. Usage is simplified into one, easy-to-understand number called the EcoScore. EcoStat determines a user’s EcoScore by comparing their usage to their EcoLimit - a user's recommended daily usage. If usage exceeds the EcoLimit, EcoScore will decrease accordingly.
EcoStat's Tree is a visual cue of success! The tree starts out full and luscious every day. As usage increases, and exceeds the EcoLimit, the tree will start to wither — indicating that high utility usage negatively impacts the environment.
EcoLimit is a recommended limit of usage predetermined by the stakeholder's household size, time of year, and geographic location. It is different for every utility.
Current usage is displayed graphically and alongside an estimated cost. The bar graph displays usage relative to the stakeholder's EcoLimit.
Staying excited about helping the environment is easy with the social aspect of EcoStat. Earn achievements, hit streaks, and reach new tiers!
